Advanced Cargo Information Declaration (ACID)

Advanced Cargo Information Declaration (ACID)

The government of Egypt will begin enforcement of the ACID filling requirement for all cargoes loading at the origin Port of Load on October 1, 2021. This means that importers of cargo to Egyptian ports are required to file specific shipment data with Egyptian authorities 48 hours prior to shipping from the exporting country.

To comply with these regulations, our customers need to provide their ACID number at the time of booking placement. We will provide a confirmed booking when the ACID information is presented and verified. A copy of the ACID email verification needs to be forwarded to the booking desk for verification of the filling.

We require that all shipping instructions contain these details:
– ACID number ; 19 digit unique identifier
– The HS commodity code as used for filling
– Egyptian importer Tax ID ; 9 digit identifier issued by the Egyptian Tax Authority
– Exporter Identification number

The Nafeza system relies on three elements to identity the exporter as follows:
– Two letter code (ISO-3166-1) representing the country where the exporter (shipper) is registered
– The type of identification number (which represent VAT or Registration number)
– The exporter identification number issued by the relevant authority

It is really important to know we will not load any Egyptian cargo if the ACID has not been verified and where required ACID data is not resident on the documentation instructions. We will not be responsible for delays of cargoes that are refused loading or denied entry into Egypt for noncompliance of these regulations or any extra costs.

We advise you to go to the website of Nafeza to review all the ACID requirements.
